Marcelle Abela Releases Two New Rhapsodies

Composer and filmmaker Marcelle Abela has released two new concert works for piano, Rhapsody in C minor and Rhapsody in G# minor, marking her return to music releases following a four-month summer hiatus. The two rhapsodies continue Abela's intensely dramatic concert music style, combining restless momentum, strong contrasts, and a distinctly uncompromising emotional character. Rhapsody in C minor features pianist Maria Ricci, who also performs Rhapsody in G# minor, which follows as a second, closely related work with its own darker and more forceful trajectory. The releases also mark a renewed focus on Abela’s official Bandcamp catalogue, where both works are now exclusively available from the artist.
