'America's Woman' Wins 8 Awards at 2024 Mei International Film Festival

Marcelle Abela's`documentary America’s Woman - A Journey Into the Heart of America's Past and Future swept the jury and audience off its feet this weekend, winning eight awards during its Asian premiere at the 2024 Mei International Film Festival. Part of the "Visionary Filmmaking" line-up of the festival held in Karnataka, India, the film won Best Documentary Feature. At the same time, Marcelle Abela won Best Director, Best Producer (with Charles Thompson as co-producer), and Best Original Score of a Feature Film (with David Ternyik as co-composer). Other awards for the film included Best Narrators for Chepi Anthony Miller and Warren Wilcock respectively, Best Director of Photography for Noelle Wilson, and Best Editor and Colorist for Richard Fransell. An Avinu Films production, America's Woman has become the proud recipient of 14 festival awards across the globe. It is scheduled to be released on both streaming platforms and physical media once it completes its run on the film festivals circuit.
