Maltese-American filmmaker wins gold in Russia for 4 space science films
The Gold Prize of the 2020 Tsiolkovsky International Space Film Festival for Best Short Documentary was shared between four films directed and produced by Marcelle Abela. The winning films, chosen out of more than 1000 submissions from 80 countries and broadcast on MoreTV for Easter weekend, were Red Glory, Pillars of Creation, Aurora, and Materre. All these films had previously won awards at other film festivals. The Tsiolkovsky Space Fest was held in Kaluga, Russian Federation, to commemorate art and science related to the field of cosmonautics.
